An M. Phil holder on International Relations from the Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad, Basit is a researcher of the Conflict and Security Studies Department of the PIPS. After completing a one-year stint with Pakistan’s one of the leading television stations Geo as a researcher on political and current affairs, he joined PIPS in August 2009 and has contributed for various PIPS reports and publications while supervising the Data Base and Profiling unit and the PIPS Resource Center. The preparation of PIPS weekly and monthly security report is also under his purview.
